Borough of Westwood - Coronavirus Update 7/14/2020

Dear Residents:

I know many of you anxious about the sharp increase in CoVid 19 cases reported in many southern and western states that had accelerated the re-opening of their businesses.

I have reported several times on the contrast between Bergen County’s (now bi-weekly) reports of town by town total number of Confirmed Coronavirus cases - since Jan. 1 2020. That number as of Friday 7/10 was 233.

WPD Chief Micheal Pontillo has been tracking removals from this list in order to provide the Mayor and Council with real time information about the prevalence of the virus in our town.

As of this writing, Westwood has 6 confirmed CoVid 19 cases. None are in the Borough’s long term care facilities and none are in HUMC at Pascack Valley. (Our hospital reports zero CoVid 19 hospitalizations.)

We continue to be careful. We continue to observe CDC protocols. And, we continue to be cautiously optimistic as we go about our lives in the Borough.
