The Borough of Westwood Announces AlertWestwood to Keep the Community Informed During Emergency Situations

Public Safety Officials Encourage Residents to Sign Up For Local Emergency Notifications To Be Better Prepared for an Emergency

The public safety officials in the Borough of Westwood announced that AlertWestwood is now available to all residents, replacing the previous Swift Reach system.  AlertWestwood is a free service that allows individuals to receive notifications from state and local authorities regarding potentially hazardous situations involving weather, traffic, and other emergencies.

The switch to AlertWestwood allows residents to receive alerts via phone, text and email that will give the Borough of Westwood officials critical information during emergency situations. Individuals who are signed up for alerts will receive reliable information including tailored updates based on their specific needs and geographic location.

Individuals who were previously signed up for Swift Reach will be automatically enrolled in Alert Westwood, but are encouraged to set up an account to AlertWestwood to add additional and updated information to the new platform to ensure accuracy. Residents and travelers to the Borough of Westwood who were not previously signed up for Swift Reach should sign up for free at https://www.smart911.com/smart911/ref/reg.action?pa=westwoodnj to receive timely and actionable emergency alerts.  They can also identify when and how they are alerted and communicated with before, during, and after emergencies.

AlertWestwood strengthens the Borough of Westwood officials’ ability to communicate with residents when it matters most.  Community members are encouraged to sign up for Alert Westwood and input or update their information and notification preferences today at https://www.smart911.com/smart911/ref/reg.action?pa=westwoodnj.
