The Borough of Westwood Planning Board is conducting a new Climate Change Related Hazard Vulnerability Assessment Study (HVAS) as part of the Borough’s Master Plan. This land use master plan component has been determined to be increasingly critical to any municipal effort to create a more sustainable and resilient community. As climate change continues to influence our natural and built environment and appears to be impacting our communities at an increasingly greater rate year after year, it is incumbent upon every municipality to incorporate basic land use principles, policies and specific recommendations to address this issue.
The Borough Planning Board is conducting a series of workshop meetings to discuss this study, to provide an overview of the issues and to offer opportunities for input into the study. A work session is occurring Thursday April 27, 2023, at 8:00pm at the Borough Community Center, 55 Jefferson Avenue, as part of their meeting agenda. The Planning Board encourages the public to attend this meeting to hear about the study and to solicit input.
