[ARCHIVED] Borough of Westwood - Coronavirus Update 03/18/2020

March 17, 2020

Dear Westwood Residents,

The Borough of Westwood continues to monitor the evolving situation surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19). As such, please be advised of the following updates:

  • I have been informed that a citizen in the Borough has been diagnosed presumptive positive with Coronavirus (COVID-19). This is not unexpected and it was merely a matter of time. I feel it is important to take this moment to remind the general public to continue following the CDC guidelines regarding prevention: Wash your hands with soap and water, avoid touching your face, and continue practice social distancing. Adhering to these simple routine reduces your chances of contracting this virus by 37-40%.

For more specific information regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) visit the CDC website at www.cdc.gov or call the CDC hotline – 1-800-232-4636. Links for more information can also be found on our website www.westwoodnj.gov.

We will continue to put updates out as needed on social media channels and our website – www.westwoodnj.gov. Please ensure you are signed up for our emergency reverse 911 system and our email alerts. Both of these can be found on our website as well.

Many thanks,

Mayor Ray Arroyo
